EXCLUSIVE: BT Extra 1 tests starts on Virgin Media

Media Boy HQ can now confirmed that Virgin Media are now testing one an new SD channel
called "BT Extra 1" when our sources tune in it's says "Channel coming soon".
Also in the latest edition of radio times they have confirmed the following channels numbers for BT Sport Europe on Virgin Media:
  • 529. BT Sport Europe HD
  • 532. BT Sport Europe

EXCLUSIVE: Virgin Media to move about 20 channels next week

Media Boy Sources say tonight that BT Sport Europe may launch on Virgin channel 522 and BT Sport Europe HD may launch on Virgin channel 528.

We have been told that there are a lot of (around 20) EPG changes set to happen next week.

Sky Movies confirm Sky Movies Tom Cruise launch date

From July 25th Sky Movies Greats will be rebrand as Sky Movies Tom Cruise on Virgin Channel 404 until August 2nd.

Also in HD on Virgin Channel 434.
Sky Movies Tom Cruise will also be shown on UPC Ireland.

BT Sport Europe to launch on XL Package

Info thanks to Virgin Media:

BT Sport Europe HD will join BT Sport channels - BT Sport 1 HD, BT Sport 2 HD and BT Sport ESPN HD - on the Virgin Media from launch on August 1st and will be available to all TV XL customers and TV customers taking BT Sport as a bolt on.

In addition to BT Sport Europe HD, we have added more HD channels including Nat Geo Wild HD and Lifetime HD.

Virgin Media has also confirmed that The BT Sport Pack and the XL Pack will go up by £3 on September 1st.

Virgin Media has today remove the following channels:

  • BBC Red Button HD has been removed from Virgin Channel 990.
  • BBC Red Button 2 has been removed from Virgin Channel 992.
  • BBC Red Button 3 has been removed from Virgin Channel 993.
  • BBC Red Button 4 has been removed from Virgin Channel 994.
  • BBC Red Button 5 has been removed from Virgin Channel 995.
  • BBC Red Button 6 has been removed from Virgin Channel 996.

BBC: BBC to fund over-75s' TV licences

The BBC is to cover the cost of providing free television licences for over-75s, the government has confirmed.

Ministers said the move would be phased in from 2018-19.

RTE: UPC Ireland to acquire broadcaster TV3 in deal worth up to €87m (£80m)

UPC Ireland is to acquire broadcaster TV3 in a deal worth up to €87m (£80), the communications company has announced.

UPC, which is owned by Liberty Global, will pay an initial €80m for TV3 and its sister channel 3e, with an additional €7m set to be paid if the station hits certain performance targets.

UCB Radio closes in UK on Digital TV

UCB has close it UK Channels on Digital TV.

All of them ever come to Virgin Media but we did have UCB Radio UK on Virgin Channel 914.

UCB Radio Ireland is still broadcasting on both Sky and UPC Ireland.
