BBC News: Premier League TV sale should be halted, says Virgin Media.

Virgin Media has asked watchdog Ofcom to suspend the auction of Premier League football TV rights until a probe into the process is completed.

The broadcasting regulator launched an investigation in November, following a complaint by the firm.

Sky Movies has confirmed that Sky Movies Drama will be rebranded as Sky Movies Valentine from 6am on Monday on Virgin Channel 410 (Also in HD on Virgin Channel 440).

The BBC reveal more information on BBC One +1 and CBBC if BBC Three is axe.

The BBC has reveal more information this past week on what may happen if BBC Three is axe as an TV Channel and move online.

What may happen later this year?

  • BBC One +1 (London?) will launch on Sky, Freesat, Virgin Media and Freeview HD as an new 24 hour channel.
  • NOTE: Freeview SD Viewers will NOT get BBC One +1 (If you cant get Film4 +1 on Freeview Channel 45 you are on Freeview SD)
  • CBBC and CBBC HD will have extra 14 hours per week added to it broadcasting hours - broadcasting to until 9pm everynight.
  • Nothing will broadcast on BBC Three's old stream from 9pm to 7am everyday.

Sky Sports has confirmed that Sky Sports 2 will be rebrand as Sky Sports World Cup on Friday 13 February for SIX Weeks for ICC Cricket World Cup.

Sky Sports 2 is on Virgin Channel 503 also in HD on Virgin Channel 513.

Reuters: Liberty Global reorganising European businesses.

Liberty Global is reorganising its UK and Ireland businesses, merging UPC Ireland with Virgin Media, according to sources close to the matter. Virgin Media meanwhile is raising £300m of secured bonds and £625m-equivalent of unsecured bonds to back its acquisition of UPC Ireland.

New Years Day saw the launch of two new HD Channels on Virgin Media from Sky.

Movies Channels put away their Christmas Decorations.

The following channels has today put away their Christmas Decorations and rebrand as:

  • Sky Movies Christmas has rebrand as Sky Movies Drama on Virgin Channel 410.
  • Christmas 24 has rebrand as Movies 24 on Virgin Channel 419.
  • Christmas 24 + has rebrand as Movies 24 + on Virgin Channel 420.
  • True Christmas has rebrand as True Movies 1 on Virgin Channel 424.
  • Sky Movies Christmas HD has rebrand as Sky Movies Drama HD on Virgin Channel 440.

UTV Ireland launches on UPC Ireland.
