Irish TV is on the brink of completing a deal with the US telecoms giant Verizon that will see the channel reach 1.2 million American homes in the Boston region.
The channel is also close to completing a deal to get on Saorview and Virgin Media's television platform, chief executive Pierce O'Reilly told the Sunday Independent. "Hopefully we will prove that there are value and interest and engagement levels that will enable us to roll it out on other platforms as well,"
"We're very close to getting on Saorview and Virgin next month as well. We would be on Saorview if we had a Minister for Communications," said O'Reilly.
Asked if the company would consider a fundraising, O'Reilly said the company was "extremely happy" with the arrangement it has with its sole investor John Griffin, who sold a majority stake in taxi company Addison Lee for £300m in 2013.
Media Boy HQ do not know if Irish TV will appear just on Virgin Media Ireland or also added on Virgin Media UK as well.
